This 2-day joining budget camping safari is perfect for travelers seeking an affordable yet authentic Tanzania wildlife experience. You’ll join a small group and explore two of Northern Tanzania’s top destinations—Tarangire National Park, famous for elephants and baobab trees, and the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with unmatched wildlife density. Accommodation is at a public campsite, offering a true safari atmosphere under the African sky.
You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha; you will meet your guide who will brief you on your upcoming safari. All the basic information about your safari will be given to you by safari guide.
After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch. Enjoy a full game drive through the park, home to large elephant herds, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and many bird species. The Tarangire River attracts wildlife year-round, making sightings excellent. In the late afternoon, exit the park and drive to a nearby public campsite. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.
Early breakfast, then drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend over 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater hosts nearly all major African wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, lions, hippos, flamingos, and the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater. In the afternoon, ascend and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the early evening.
